The Duffield Institute for Animal Behavior at Cornell University seeks a Post-Doctoral Associate to study canine behavior and genetics. This position will work in the laboratory of Dr. Heather J. Huson, Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Department of Animal Science, College of Agriculture and Life Science, Cornell University. Dr. Huson’s research strives to improve animal health and performance by improving our understanding of genetic regulation and selection.
Position Summary: The Post-Doctoral associate, as a member of the Duffield Institute, will work in collaboration with a diverse team of basic, translational, and clinical researchers to improve our understanding of canine behavior and genetics in dogs. Description: 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the areas of Behavior, Physiology, or Cell Biology with an expected starting date of August 16, 2024. The Department is particularly interested in future leaders who employ systems-based approaches to define molecular, genetic, and physiological processes underlying biological function and disease states.
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral experience, and an outstanding record of research achievement with the promise to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program. Candidates are expected to adopt and develop course offerings at the undergraduate and graduate student level, participate in graduate and undergraduate research training, and perform service at the departmental, college, and university level.
